Elderberry is an amazing food, medicine, Florida native plant, wildlife attractor, and poisonous plant. The whole plant contains cyanide, which can be deactivated by boiling (phew). Popular for its use in making elderberry syrup for the flu, although I prefer Bidens alba for that use. I made some delicious Elderflower champagne.
